Buying guide: Blood Pressure Monitors in Sri Lanka
A blood pressure monitor lets you check your blood pressure at home. In Sri Lanka you will hear it called a pressure machine, pressure meter, BP machine or sphygmomanometer — they all mean the same family of devices. Hu Med stocks automatic digital upper-arm monitors for easy home use and manual aneroid sets for clinics and trained users.
Digital monitors show systolic, diastolic and pulse on a screen with one-touch operation, so they suit most families. Manual (aneroid) meters are used together with a stethoscope and need some training. Compare the models above by price, cuff size and warranty, and ask us on WhatsApp if you are not sure which one to choose.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a digital and a manual (aneroid) blood pressure monitor?
A digital monitor inflates the cuff automatically and shows the reading on a screen, so it is the easiest choice for use at home. A manual aneroid meter has a dial and a hand bulb and is used with a stethoscope, which needs training.
How do I choose the right cuff size?
Measure around your upper arm and pick a cuff that covers that range. A cuff that is too small or too large can give inaccurate readings. The cuff range is listed on each product page.
How should I measure my blood pressure at home?
Sit upright with your back supported, rest for about five minutes, keep your arm at heart level and avoid talking during the measurement. Take the reading at about the same time each day. This is general guidance — follow your doctor’s advice.
Do blood pressure monitors come with a warranty?
Warranty terms differ by model and brand, and are shown on each product page. Keep your invoice as proof of purchase.
Do you deliver island-wide?
Yes. Hu Med delivers across Sri Lanka by courier. The delivery charge depends on your location and the weight of the order, and is shown at checkout before you pay.
Can I return a product?
Unused, unopened items in their original packaging can be returned within 7 days of delivery. Some medical consumables cannot be returned for hygiene reasons — please read our Returns & Refund Policy first.
